The line for the 30th anniversary D&D rave/party was three city blocks long. I was mistakenly placed in this line, and got sucked into this party. No biggie, I had fun. |
And here's the Party. I had a panel, so I couldn't stay, but they had all kinds for freebies, and I got a tote bag, shirt, and several cups. Loud techno music played. Much chicken legs and corn on a stick were served. Og very pleased with his mead! |
NVidia's computers here were homemade, so they ran a lot better than the crap they had at the LAN party. I got a free lanyard and tee-shirt here, too. |
This con brought to you by the new Mountain Dew: Pitch Black. Kind of like Black Cherry soda and 'Dew. Very good. Better than mead. |
Okay, I have always had a soft spot for Pikachu because of Worldcon in 1998. Where are you going, Pikachu? |
Oh... that's where. Honestly, first thing I thought? "The card game is still around?" Yes, yes, alive and well, as a matter of a fact. People were still advertising they were buying cards at several tables. |
Big Neopets signs. No Neopet stuff. Huh. My son loved Neopets, I wanted to get him stuff. Vendors had a few things, but IMHO, big display should mean freebie--er, I mean stuff. |
Microsoft's booth was pathetic. This is the whole display. The back of the display was a tangle or trash, wires, and boxes. I tried to take a picture of the mess, but a man in a red suit shooed me away. Don't feel bad for Microsoft, though. Number One game box at all the other booths? XBox. |
Those fans of Looney Labs will be happy to see they had a big booth, and were doing well. Several of my friends, as well as my wife, are Lab Rabbits. |
Worship the die. It rolls a 20. God has chosen you. |
These guys rule. What can I say but these people will probably lead to kilts going mainstream? |
A fitting end to this journey. We stopped at Youghiogheny Overlook rest stop in Maryland, pronounced "Yu-Gi-Oh... gainy." Heh. Ironic. It's offical, anime gaming is everywhere. All in all, I had a great time, with good friends. And... I'll probably be back next year. |
